Architect Paul Gottereau designed a first building (on former Vienna Street) which was later included in the construction that follows Royal Square's and Palace's central axis. The monumental eclectic edifice. damaged during the 1989 Revolution, had, during its 1993 restoration led by the architect Petre Swoboda, its roof completely remade, preserving an almost identical volume but changing the original slate with a copper cover.
